Grand Prairie ISD Superintendent Put on Administrative Leave Months into the Job

What Happened?

Grand Prairie ISD Superintendent Dr. Susan Hull was placed on administrative leave just months after starting the job.

Why Was She Put on Leave?

The district has not publicly stated the reason for Dr. Hull's leave, citing personnel matters.

However, according to the Dallas Morning News, sources within the district say that Dr. Hull's leave is related to concerns about her leadership style and communication skills.

What's Next?

The district has appointed Dr. Linda Ellis, the former superintendent of Carrollton-Farmers Branch ISD, as interim superintendent.

Dr. Ellis will lead the district while the board of trustees conducts a search for a permanent replacement for Dr. Hull.

Additional Information

Dr. Hull was hired in June 2022, becoming the first female superintendent in Grand Prairie ISD's history.

She previously served as superintendent of Round Rock ISD and has over 30 years of experience in education.
