Conservative candidate re-elected as MP
Sir Jacob Rees-Mogg has been re-elected as the Member of Parliament for North East Somerset.
The Conservative candidate won the seat with a majority of 21,654 votes. The Liberal Democrat candidate, Sam Youd, came second with 18,914 votes. The Labour candidate, Nick Webb, came third with 8,656 votes.
Sir Jacob has been the MP for North East Somerset since 2010. He was previously the MP for Bath from 1997 to 2001.
The North East Somerset constituency is located in the south-west of England. It includes the towns of Bath, Keynsham and Midsomer Norton.
The election results for North East Somerset are as follows:
- Sir Jacob Rees-Mogg (Conservative): 40,568 votes
- Sam Youd (Liberal Democrat): 18,914 votes
- Nick Webb (Labour): 8,656 votes
- Others: 1,044 votes
